The Beginning

Health & Fitness - The Beginning

Life is a journey, not a destination” –  Ralph Waldo Emerson

I guess you could say the same about health and fitness. Wherever you’re going, you keep on going when you get there, but the hardest part is to get started.

Before you even begin, you have to be in the right mind set, and make sure you don’t set a goal that is unachievable. If you think you’re going to lose a stone in weight and have a 6 pack in 2 weeks, unfortunately you won’t.

Healthy Eating

What you eat/don’t eat is probably the biggest factor in health and fitness. Changing your diet will be challenging but there’s no easy way out of it.

There’s also no easy answer to what you should eat, it all depends on what you want to achieve. If you’re looking to gain muscle or lose weight, both diets will be completely different, but healthy.

You need to decide what you want to achieve, but there are a lot of products on the market that can help you. My Fitness Pal is a website & app that you can use to do this. And there are many more similar on the market.

You put in your weight, height, roughly how often you exercise etc, and what you want to gain/lose. It tells you how much you should roughly eat in a day, and how long it will take you to lose it.

It’s obvious for a healthy diet, you should avoid things like alcohol, junk food, coffee etc, but we all know this isn’t always possible. Make sure you allow yourself a day/meal in a week where you can eat what you want, then at least you know there is something to look forward to whenever you think you want to eat something ‘bad’.

The 80/20 rule is sometimes a good way to look at things. So if 80% of the week or even day you eat healthy, it’s ok to be.. not so healthy.. the other 20%. AND DRINK WATER
